CAFE DU MONDE

What better way to end our New Orleans adventure then a dark stroll through The French Quarter and beignets and cafe au laits at Cafe Du Monde?

Nick told us as that as children they used to put the powdered sugar on their noses.  We had just enough wine at dinner to think this sounded like a great idea.  I'm sure the people around us thought we looked ridiculous, but it mattered little to us!

We were too busy enjoying the last few hours of our adventure, making the most of each moment.

There are few friends that you can travel with, spend night and day with, in extreme heat and little sleep and still be sad to part.  Nick and Ashley showed us THE MOST amazing time in New Orleans!  We are SO grateful!

The food and music were incredible, but the company was even better!  We are so lucky to have such great friends!

Jazz Fest was a whirlwind adventure of music, drinking, eating and small doses of sleep.  While I intended to blog from Texas and New Orleans while in action......there are times when you must choose between living in the moment and documenting the moment.

It is rare that there are any photographs of me that I approve of sharing.  BUT, after a long and amazing trip spent with some of my favorite people in the world, I feel stronger and more courageous.  There is nothing better for your confidence then hours of REAL conversation with people that inspire, support and encourage you! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to those people (you know who you are).

There is one person in particular that does this better then anyone else.........my sweet Cuyler.

Dear Kind and Patient Husband,

Thank you for this roadtrip, THE MOST amazing Christmas present! Only you understand how very much I love and need adventures like this in my life.  There is nothing that makes me happier then packing our bags and wandering around together!  You are THE MOST loving and supporting person that I have ever known. You are responsible for the smile on my face in these pictures.  I am ever grateful for all that you do for me and our family.
