CLOUDLAND CANYON, DAY ONE

Believe it or not, as a family, we are happiest when we are out in the woods.  

There is something incredibly liberating about leaving your possessions behind and getting by with the bare necessities.  Without all the modern conveniences of home you are forced to entertain yourselves and each other.  

The days stretch out and seem endless and you spend a whole evening watching the woods and waiting for the fireflies to appear.  While you wait you draw and play music and make up stories and eat chocolate and laugh and well, you get the picture.  It was awesome!   

CAFE DU MONDE

What better way to end our New Orleans adventure then a dark stroll through The French Quarter and beignets and cafe au laits at Cafe Du Monde?

Nick told us as that as children they used to put the powdered sugar on their noses.  We had just enough wine at dinner to think this sounded like a great idea.  I'm sure the people around us thought we looked ridiculous, but it mattered little to us!

We were too busy enjoying the last few hours of our adventure, making the most of each moment.

There are few friends that you can travel with, spend night and day with, in extreme heat and little sleep and still be sad to part.  Nick and Ashley showed us THE MOST amazing time in New Orleans!  We are SO grateful!

The food and music were incredible, but the company was even better!  We are so lucky to have such great friends!

THE FRENCH QUARTER

It's not easy holding a bucket size daiquiri and a camera at the same time, but I was determined!
