What's better then live music?
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to sneak out of the house on a week night, head to The Earl in east Atlanta, have a few drinks with friends, and see a great show. It was the LP release party for local modern folk band Book Club.
I was fortunate enough to get an early copy of their debut album, Ghost, a few weeks earlier from our dear friend Nick, who produced it on his new label. (Just one of the many perks of knowing the Lufts, here is another.) Carson and I had been listening to it daily.
I have always loved good folk music with beautiful harmonies between a male and female vocalist.......there is just something so romantic and lovely about the sound! In an interview in Creative Loafing Robbie was quoted as saying, "I'm just trying to make simple and honest songs." How refreshing!
Check them out for yourself........here, and here.
