INSPIRED

Photobucket

I often find myself in a constant state of inspired .  I am forever brainstorming, always planning, never executing.

It has been this way for as long as I can remember.  I know that I am creative.  I have ideas (good ideas, I think, I'm pretty sure) but I lack the confidence to follow through.

It's always the same story:  In the beginning I come up with an exciting project and full of energy I consider all the fabulous possibilities.  I get distracted, and become discouraged.  Ultimately I give up, justifying it with a million excuses (some real, some imagined).

Why is it so hard I wonder?  Is it this way for everyone?

With the adoption work behind me I feel able to take something on while I wait, a project that will bring me satisfaction, creatively.  Instead of spending all my free time admiring others talent, maybe it is time to push myself to discover some of my own?

I have cleared a little space in the house that will be dedicated to creating and have promised myself that I will get up early each day to allow some alone time to focus.  Wish me luck.  Hopefully I will have something to share with you soon!

I really relate to what you're saying here, I know that all a person needs in order to achieve what they want to do is belief and confidence in themselves - but I still struggle! Good luck with your venture!

Absolutly in the same boat with ya. I waver and wobble as well -- rarely going with my gut. I'm still figuring it out too. :)

Hi Stephanie,
I share your feelings and although I have been active and looking for a job transition in the past 14 months to do what I love, I still tend to slow down at times or lose the momentum.
I found this book (The Tools) a few weeks ago and has been really helpful to keep me focus and active on achieving and put myself on what I love.
You're awesome and can see your diverse talent, hope you find it enjoyable.

Oh my gosh...I love this quote and totally relate to your blog post! You could have been describing me! Will you check in with me every so often to make sure I'm staying creative and true to myself? (And I'll do the same for you. :) )

I relate as well and had a graveyard of unfinished drafts until I came across some amazing books. I highly recommend the book, The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. It's a simple but profound explanation of the creative process and why we get blocked before completion. Hugh MacLeod's, Ignore Everybody and Seth Godin's, Linchpin would be the ultimate reading trifecta:)
