ROADTRIP

Sorry for the radio silence friends!

We left our house this morning around 5:00 A.M. for a 12day family roadtrip. I am BEYOND excited about it! We are touring around Texas to visit friends and family and ending up in New Orleans for Jazz Fest, EEEk!

I promise to catch up on some posting now that all the prep work and packing is done, and I will have time to relax, read and share.

I have high hopes of taking lots of pictures a long the way and even share some of what I packed for such a long trip with so many stops.

I tried my hardest not to overpack, but as I explained to my husband......I certainly can not wear the same willowy and slightly inappropriate sundress to breakfast, with Grand Marmee, that I plan to wear day one of the festival.

Luckily we managed to fit everything we needed into the new, much smaller, car. Shockingly, we made it all the way here on a tank and a half of gas?! Hooray for hybrids!

On another note......until I can post more, check out my little sister Mary's blog. She has been working hard on Happily Grey and launched it today, and I'm super excited about it! Mary has a great sense of style and takes (annoyingly) perfect photographs. Seriously, the girl is gorgeous! Check it out and let me know what you think.

FEAR

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Last week I had a little scare, or a big scare......depending on how honest I am being. While visiting the doctor for a standard physical for the adoption, it was recommended I get an ultrasound on my right breast.

The doctor did not say that she felt a 'lump', but instead used the word 'mass'. She didn't think that it felt like anything to be worried over, but insisted it be addressed immediately, as opposed to after the adoption like I had suggested. I wasn't scared, more worried and slightly put out. It was something else to think about lying awake at night and yet another massive concern to pile on my overflowing plate.

Thankfully, all is well! Thursday morning test results provided the huge sense of relief I was in need of. I must admit that while I waited for almost a week I could not help but wonder, 'what if?'. I put on a brave face and a casual tone, but inside I was a wreck! This week, I have a whole new perspective!

Dear Random Mass in my Right Breast,

Thank you for recently scaring the sh** out of me! I realize now that I was wasting a lot of time complaining and feeling sorry for myself. You made me remember how very much I have to be thankful for!

Sincerely,
Me

EASTER

How about this girls hair? It has literally never been cut, so the sweet curls on the end....that's the hair she was born with three and a half years ago. Crazy?!

While I am all about a short little cut for summer, Carson and Cuyler are not on board. Cuyler loves long hair, especially on her and Carson is convinced that she will feel every strand that is trimmed. I, however, am the one taxed with the job of brushing that hair night and day (while Carson squeals/screams) in an attempt to keep it out of her face and food. In my opinion, that gives me veto power.......

Carson's first haircut will be in the near future. Until then it seems like a good idea to let it blow in the breeze and take lots of pictures. Hope you had as much fun as we did this past holiday weekend!
