Beautiful paintings to inspire me…

After last weeks complete and total debauchery, I have been putting myself through a strict detox.  Partying and traveling can force you to put some pretty awful food and drink into your system!  I have been sick since we got home, and my body and skin show the results of my over indulgence.

In an attempt to flush the toxins and turn over a new leaf just before I enter the holiday season of- eating and drinking to be merry, I am currently living on whole foods- fresh/organic fruits and veggies and drinking loads of lemon water.  It's amazing how quickly you can see and feel the results of a strict diet combined with mandated rest!

While searching for some inspiration I came across these gorgeous painted girls by Michael Carson. 

We women tend to beat ourselves up pretty good, admiring body types and figures that are just not realistic or attainable personally.  We envy gals decades younger and a zillion feet taller and wonder, "Why can't I look like that?" 

I decided to look around for a different (and healthier) representation of beauty.  Self-improvement inspiration through art, who knew?

It is impossible to tell what size these lovely ladies are, if there skin is perfect and glowing, or their hair thick and full…and I like that.  I don't need an example of what I want to look like, I need an example of what I want to feel like.  I long for inspiration that is uplifting, images that encourage improvement, as well as acceptance.

These lean/well dressed/deep in thought ladies give me just the motivation that I need to take better care of myself and refocus on some personal goals before the end of the year is here. I hope that you agree!
