ROUND

I have been totally obsessed with circle bags for a while now.

Ever since I shot with the adorable Tambour bag from Les Nouvelles I have been pining for one of my very own.

Sometimes I feel like a regular crossbody bag can be too cumbersome, even awkward. These little round purses are absolutely adorable and seem perfectly manageable…slightly structured, but still flat and soft enough to avoid rumpling things all up.

I'm an especially big fan of the shorter strap.  Hitting a little higher on the waist means it isn't sitting on your thigh, making it a bit more flattering.

Thrown over dresses for festivals and gauzy shirts for parties and cookouts, it seems like an ideal summer bag to me.  Best of all, because of the pint size, most of the options are still affordable.

I'm currently stocking up on stuff to shoot with a pretty amazing Atlanta gal.  We met at an event a few weeks back and have been plotting and planning for the new site.  I can not wait to work with her and share it all with you.

If you interested, scroll and click to shop. I wonder if we will pick the same one?

How beautiful are these bags???

Yadouga is the product of designer Kirsten Yadouga Schwinn's early 1970s upbringing and her love of New York City. Growing up outside of New York City in the 1970s, Kirsten was inspired by chic American style icons and the laid-back glamour of New York women; and attending her dad's music gigs downtown further shaped her "un-done luxury" aesthetic. Kirsten’s career has since included designing for international luxury collections as well as emerging contemporary brands; Reed Krakoff and Madewell among them.

I discovered one of these lovely bags on Pinterest and quickly became obsessed with the gorgeous colors, beautiful leather with amazing zippers and hardware! One is actually listed as a camera bag.......can you imagine?

Will Leather Goods

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Not long ago I was obsessed with the latest "It Bag." I have stacks of Designer bags in dusters in the top of my closet to prove it. Since then my taste (and budget) have changed. The logo bags I used to pine over, bore me now!

Instead, I am drawn to bags that are unique and well crafted. Beautiful leathers, unusual fabrics, weighty hardware. I'm constantly searching for the perfect messenger for daytime use, a tote big enough for a weekend trip, and a carryall that can handle my load for the airport.

Sadly, most of the stuff that I find, that I can afford, is pure crap! I would rather carry nylon or canvas then cheap leather any day. Every bag I love seems to cost a fortune. Until, Will Leather Goods.

I will take one of all of the above please, a bag for every occasion. The company is based in Oregon, of course. Everything good seems to come from that state these days!

Love their:
  • hand loomed fabrics
  • vintage, embossed, and American made leathers
  • washed cotton canvas
  • Italian lambskin
  • Guatemalan fabrics and wovens inspired by Dhurrie rugs
  • re-purposed vintage military bags
  • distressed woven cuffs
  • amazing saddle leather belts

The Inspiration
The Product

The Matriarch

The Details

The Look

I am officially smitten with The World Family Ibiza Handbags, and here is why:

  1. I am a huge fan of fringe, laser cut leather, and ethnic embellishment like beading, embroidery, and ribbon work!
  2. I am suffering from some sort of temporary love of color after last weeks paper flower making marathon.
  3. I am pinning every single bohemian-ish fashion shot I find on the internet, planning and scheming on how to replicate it......It's true, I love a good modern hippie look!
  4. I have been analyzing each and every photo from Coachella, hoping that by some miracle I might be able convince hubby to take me to Bonnarroo. I want to be prepared and this bag would be perfect for any festival!!!
  5. After visiting their website, looking at all the photos of their gorgeous family, and reading the origins of the company...... I am fantasizing about living like a gypsy and traveling the world with my little family, seeking and selling beautiful textiles. Can you imagine?
Seems like one of these bags would make everyone's summer better! Happy Cinco! Happy Mothers Day! Happy Weekend!

I will announce the winners of the hot sauce giveaway Monday.....comments through Friday night will be entered.
